Tropography is an architectural design practice that creates climatically responsive and responsible architecture suited for the humid tropics. We design spaces that connect with their natural environment and enhance their user experience.

Design Goals

To counter the heat, humidity and heavy rainfall of a tropical wet climate, we design our finished spaces to be passively comfortable – cool and dry interiors that enjoy natural lighting, ventilation and cooling, and also lessen our environmental footprint.

Space Planning

We employ a back-to-basics approach; peripheral verandahs or corridors to shade external walls from direct sun and rain, semi-open spaces within the interiors for continuous cross-ventilation, well-shaded large openings for ample natural light and a palette of environmentally sensitive and sustainable material finishes.
